Lucid Consulting Australia is pleased to announce that the Stirling Capital proposed Cirque Apartments development – located at 63-65 Kishorn Road, Mount Pleasant – is the first multi-unit residential development in Western Australia to achieve a 5 Star Green Star accreditation utilising the Green Building Council of Australia new generation Design & As Built tool.
Marc Nadini, the sustainability engineering leader in Lucid’s WA office was thrilled with the result. The sustainability team working on this project shared the client’s vision that it was possible to provide high quality, affordable, sustainable design and set out to deliver on this objective. Marc stated that it was very rewarding for the Lucid sustainability team and the client alike to receive the recognition and positive feedback from the Green Building Council of Australia. It is important that the development approval authorities in each state support sustainable development and provide incentives for sustainable multi-residential development. The result is triple win for the community, the developer and the apartment owner.
Lucid has also had recent success with sustainable multi-unit developments in South Australia. Roman Charles, the sustainability engineering leader for Lucid in South Australia, added that the sustainability team in SA have been involved in the Renewal SA Bowden redevelopment, in which developers must meet the Sustainability target set for the precinct redevelopment, which was originally industrial use. Our ESD team working on this site have recently achieved a 5 Star Green Star rating for three residential apartment developments – Nexus Apartments, The Bowery and The Merchant Apartments. Lucid are also currently working on two other developments – B apartments and Park Central – which will be assessed by the Green Building Council by the end of the year. We hope to see more and more multi-residential developments following this path.
