Congratulations to the Lucid Nomads for taking out the 2016 National Footy Day held last Saturday September 24th. The national football match is a yearly event where Lucid’s interstate contingents unite in Adelaide as the “Lucid Nomads” to battle it out against the SA Team.

This year, the Nomads took home the coveted “Clipsal Cup” with a 5-point victory over SA. It was a hard fought contest all day and the Nomads managed to scrape across the line thanks to the preparation, leadership and tactical management shown by player/coach Anthony Di Marzo.

The list of awards that were given out on the day are as follows:

MVP (Nomads) – Dale Spurway-Humphries

MVP (SA Team) – Tom Eldredge

Spirit of Lucid Award – Kevin R Smith

Best Mark – Vasili Papageorgiou

Most Inspirational Moment – Joe Clarke

Best New Recruit – Mitchell Garcia

Biggest Clanger – Vasili Papageorgiou

Biggest Hit – Dale Spurway-Humphries (on Dan Kisgyano)

The main goal for the day was to raise money for the Zahra Foundation – an amazing charity who provide assistance to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence. The Zahra Foundation aim to support the immediate crisis needs of women and children experiencing violence, as well as build their capacity to attain economic independence. So far we have raised over $1,350 towards this worthwhile cause.
