Gary Linger

Director

Gary joined Lucid in 2020 as an Associate in our NSW office where he immediately contributed value to our national and local teams. In 2021, Gary joined Hugo Murray as a Director in our NSW region, with a remit for the continuing growth of our capability for the NSW market.

Gary is a Chartered Engineer with over 35 years of experience in multiple sectors as a mechanical engineer, strategic advisor and multi-disciplinary project leader. He has extensive experience throughout Australia and internationally in building services and construction, consultant-based project management and as an expert witness.

He has designed and led projects as diverse as major hospitals, distribution centres, commercial office developments, data centres, newspaper printing facilities and infrastructure projects, as well as acting as a strategic advisor for sustainable campus / city energy planning.

He is skilled at stakeholder management, design innovation and delivery of complex major projects with large multi-disciplinary teams considering risk mitigation, innovation, value and sustainable outcomes. Gary has performed various roles from Designer to Project Director through all stages of the project cycle from inception to handover.

Gary has lived in five cities and travelled extensively to satisfy his passion for travel and scuba / technical diving. This has seen him under the ice in Russia, exploring caves in Mexico, and inside aircraft carriers sunk by nuclear testing in the pacific.
