Since 2019, Lucid has partnered with Croft Developments to deliver tailored engineering and consulting services across a growing portfolio of aged care centres nationally, valued at over $250 million. Starting with the Dawesville development in Western Australia, Lucid’s initial engagement included building services design, environmental consulting, and fire safety engineering.

That project laid the groundwork for a long-term partnership. Today, Lucid has supported Croft Developments in the successful design and delivery of over 10 Residential Aged Care developments across four states, each carefully designed to meet varied care requirements, from low-care residential living to specialised dementia and respite support.

The challenge

Each site needed to meet a complex mix of requirements:

Flexibility for different levels of resident care and independence
Consistency in design and delivery across multiple regions, while respecting local conditions and compliance
Designing for wellbeing and amenity without overcomplicating systems or operations

Croft also required a consultant who could align with their long-term development vision — not just deliver on individual projects.
