MannaCare’s Melaleuca Lodge and Cassia House facilities in Doncaster were upgraded to meet contemporary aged care standards and support a more holistic resident experience. The capital works program focused on enhancing everyday amenity, improving wellness, and ensuring the infrastructure supported safe, effective care.

Lucid was engaged to support building services works across the capital upgrades, with a focus on practical functionality and compliance in a live care environment.

The challenge

The upgrades needed to deliver measurable improvements without disrupting ongoing care. This required careful planning, clear coordination with the broader design team, and an understanding of aged care compliance and operational sensitivities.

Our Approach

Lucid supported the design and delivery of internal and external upgrades across both sites:

Cassia House: Including refurbishment of a communal plaza, integration of a new purpose-built wellness centre, and external works for a dementia sensory garden designed to support memory stimulation and quiet reflection.
Melaleuca Lodge: Cosmetic upgrades designed to better align the facility with modern operational needs while maintaining comfort and familiarity for residents.

We worked closely with project stakeholders to align service infrastructure with clinical workflows, wellness objectives, and day-to-day operations.
