Australian Plant Phenomics Facility

The Australian Plant Phenomics Facility (APPF) is a research facility which incorporates the world’s best data gathering technology aimed at rapid research, development and improvement of plant characteristics.

The facility incorporates over 2,000m² of environmentally controlled greenhouse area, surrounding the central data gathering area, as well as laboratory, workshops and office space.

Lucid provided specialist building services engineering for the facility, which included innovative and energy efficient thermal control (heating and cooling) systems for the greenhouses, grey water and rainwater collection, treatment and re-use.

The project was jointly funded by the University of Adelaide, the Government of South Australia and the Federal Government and therefore required significant stakeholder engagement.
