Ray Finlayson Sporting Complex

This important community project provides the City of Kalgoorlie Boulder with an adaptive and innovative building that is prestigious and functional.

The sporting complex comprises:

• Office administration.
• Indoor sporting facilities.
• Multi-purpose clubrooms.
• Function room and catering kitchen.

Lucid worked in a Design and Construct contract arrangement with Badge Constructions enabling client, design and builder collaboration at all project stages. With this team-orientated approach an initial project concept was developed and matured into a landmark regional facility.

Lucid was able to engineer from first principles electrical and natural gas infrastructure designs to avoid major upgrade requirements of Western Power and ATCO Gas infrastructure. This approach introduced a cost saving exceeding $300k for the City.

Lucid completed the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire engineering services, specialist lighting, sustainability and audio-visual design for the $8M project.
